It is a well known fact that the use of pesticides is a huge health issue. With that in mind people are still using these unhealthy products each and every day, to the tune of a billion pounds a year of dangerous pesticides being used on our food and around our homes.
Now everybody knows that foods that are in the grocery stores has been washed before they arrive at the store. And many people will still wash there fruits and veggies after they but them. However there are still trace pesticides that are being consumed from these fruits and vegetables, which are causing health issues.
It is also causing huge health issues with farmers and farm workers. With over 20,000 pesticide related illnesses reported every year, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, this is really becoming a problem.
Even though farmers and other people who work on farms have more than there share of pesticide related illnesses, peoples pets have even more. According to the Animal Poison Control Center, there are over 30 thousand reports every year of pet poisoning from pesticides.
One of the main causes is normal everyday people. The problem is that when we see a weed on our driveway the first thing we do is to grab a bottle of weed spray that is full of chemicals, and many people will even use chemicals as a preventative measure.
The use of pesticides has been proven to be the cause of, or a contributing factor of many diseases like birth defects, different cancer’s and even Parkinson’s disease. With all the problems with pesticides, people still use them.
One would think that the government would step in and create laws to help regulate pesticides even more. Did you know that pesticide companies don’t even have to test there products meant for home use with the same standards as products for commercial use??? This means that home pesticides can actually be worse for you than commercial pesticides.
And these chemicals not only harm people, but they also contaminate the air, water and soil. This means that honeybees, butterflies and ladybugs along with fish are threatened with pesticides. One other small fact is that the pesticides you use around your house can and do seep into the water table.
Of course we do need to get rid of pest in and around our home but there are organic options that work just as well and in some cases even better. Join that with the fact that you will be helping keep your family and pets healthy, it really is a simple choice. Organic pest removal is the way to go.

Greenhouses are a prized item when it comes to gardening. Not everyone can have one because of restraints on the budget and on the size of the garden. However they can greatly enhance your gardening experience and extend your gowing season by several months.
You can sow your seeds earlier in the season and then be able to grow on tender plants. You can over winter your more delicate plants and during the summer you can grow vegetables like Italian tomatoes, peppers and aubergines that just would not do so well outside in the variable UK weather. And if it’s cold, wet and windy your greenhouse is the perfect place to continue gardening in the dry.
But you need to make your greenhouse work to its maximum capacity to get real value out of it. For this you’ll need some type of storage and a decent working surface. In a smaller greenhouse you might find that a potting bench is all you need. You can sew and pot on using the bench in spring and store the plant pots underneath during winter.
However, for most people a potting bench is too small and restricting. A much better option is aluminium greenhouse staging that comes in a variety of sizes to fit greenhouses both small and large. The staging can have one or two shelves underneath for storage or even no shelves at all if you want.
The greenhouse staging can have slat tops for better ventilation or solid tops to provide a working surface. Some staging folds up or folds down to allow you to use the space during the growing season for growing plants.
Being flexible with the insides of your greenhouse will help you get the most out of it. At times you’ll need to cope with a mass of young growing plants and at times it could be almost devoid of living vegetation.
